A person many naturally be fearful, especially if he or she is said to have caused an accident leading to serious injuries due to drunk driving. One person in California may end up facing charges following an accident that possibly involved DUI recently.
The accident happened in the early morning hours on a Sunday. Police said the driver of a vehicle that was heading south did not properly make a left turn to go east. As a result, the automobile hit a center median as well as a fire hydrant and mailbox. The hydrant was sheared off due to the impact.
The vehicle then hit a tree, a wall and a sign, and then flipped over. Four individuals in the car, including the person driving, escaped from the vehicle. Authorities had to remove an unconscious fifth person from the vehicle. All of the individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries deemed not to be life-threatening.
The person who was reportedly driving the car is now under investigation for DUI charges at the felony level, since the accident led to injuries to her four passengers. When an individual is charged with drunk driving, he or she may be given the chance to plea bargain with prosecutors in an effort to get his or her charges lessened, thus leading to a lighter penalty. Otherwise, the person might proceed to trial and try to defend his or her innocence in a California courtroom.
