Man faces drug charges for methamphetamine possession

California law enforcement is constantly trying to catch people who might be involved in drug trafficking, sales, possession and other drug crimes. Often, arrests are made after a traffic stop in which the initial investigation had no link to suspected drug violations. When a person is charged with possession, there is much to think about when formulating a defense. The amount the person is alleged to have had, the circumstances of the arrest and the drug itself are key. One key to handling the case is to have a strong legal defense.

A man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and is suspected of trafficking the drug after law enforcement made a traffic stop. Initially, officers stopped the man for a potential vehicle-code issue. Upon investigation, they found an estimated 30 grams of what they believed was methamphetamine inside his vehicle. Other items that they think are part of a drug sale operation were discovered. The man was arrested and charged with possession, transportation and drug sales.

Methamphetamine has become a serious problem across the U.S. and law enforcement is avidly seeking those involved with it, especially those manufacturing and selling it. Simply because a person is arrested after a traffic stop and is confronted with drug charges does not mean they are automatically guilty. There could have been a misunderstanding. The investigation itself could have been tainted. It is possible that the person made a mistake and there are alternatives in lieu of jail and fines. No matter the situation, legal advice is important.

Although drug charges are serious, anyone facing drug crime charges might benefit from having an attorney experienced in criminal defense.
